Odoo Enterprise vs. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Odoo Enterprise and Dynamics 365 Business Central are both full mid-market ERPs. Business Central shines in the Microsoft ecosystem as well as in finance and manufacturing, but for CRM, marketing and website/shop it usually needs separate, paid apps. Odoo delivers these areas integrated, is more open and generally more affordable and transparent.

Both are full mid-market ERPs and the most common Odoo competitors in the DACH region. Business Central plays to its strength in the Microsoft ecosystem and in finance/manufacturing; Odoo in an integrated front office (website, shop, marketing), openness and costs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Odoo Enterprise vs. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

How do Odoo and Business Central differ on CRM and website?

Odoo brings CRM, marketing, a website builder and an integrated online shop natively. Business Central has only a basic CRM; full CRM (Dynamics 365 Sales), marketing (Customer Insights) and a shop (via a Shopify connector) are separate, paid apps or partner solutions.

Who benefits from Business Central compared to Odoo?

Business Central pays off for strongly Microsoft-oriented companies that work deeply in Teams, Outlook, Excel and Power BI and focus on finance and manufacturing. There it plays out the native Microsoft 365 integration, Copilot and the Power Platform.

Is Odoo cheaper than Business Central?

Usually yes. In the DACH region, Odoo costs around 19.90 to 29.90 euros per user per month, while Business Central is around 70 to 79 euros (Essentials) or 100 to 108 euros (Premium). With Business Central, add-on apps for CRM, marketing and website as well as partner implementation come on top.

Does Business Central offer DATEV like Odoo?

Not natively to the same extent. Business Central does have an official German localisation by Microsoft, but there the DATEV connection runs only via partner add-ons such as anaptis. Odoo supports DATEV via the OCA community modules.

Comparing more than two systems?

This comparison puts Odoo against one competitor. If several systems are still open, a structured selection is the better route: requirements first, weighted into must, should and could, then a comparison that justifies every rating. We disclose there where we earn from a system ourselves.
