Self-hosted · Open source

Open source, runs on your or our server. Full data ownership, GDPR-compliant, no per-task pricing. Strong for custom API integrations and code nodes (JavaScript). Best fit when data must stay in Germany.

Zapier

Cloud · Market leader

8,000+ app integrations — chances are every tool you use already has a ready-made connector. Cloud SaaS, fast start. Best fit if you want to wire many standard tools without server overhead.

Make

Cloud · Visual editor

Formerly Integromat. Excellent visual editor, very granular for data transformations. Cheaper than Zapier at medium volume. Best fit when you want to model complex logic visually and count operations precisely.

How we decide with you

  • GDPR needs? Must data stay in Germany? → tends toward n8n.
  • Which tools need to connect? Are there existing connectors? → Zapier or Make.
  • How high is the monthly volume? At high op counts, Make or self-hosted n8n pay off.
  • In-house tech expertise? Can you maintain workflows yourself? → cloud tools (Zapier/Make) are more accessible.
  • Edge cases (custom code, webhooks, database triggers, AI nodes)? → n8n or Make.

Even after go-live we stick around. Updates, fixes, adjustments — without drama.

Hosting & operations

We host n8n workflows in our hosting environment in Germany on request — including backups, updates and monitoring. Zapier and Make are SaaS and run on the vendor; we handle setup, account management and optimisation.
