FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Odoo Enterprise vs. Oracle NetSuite

What is the difference between Odoo and NetSuite in group finance?

NetSuite is designed for genuine group capability with OneWorld: multi-entity, multi-currency and consolidation, along with mature international finance, are core strengths. Odoo covers accounting and finance fully, but is only limited on multi-entity consolidation and is closer to the German standard.

How do Odoo and NetSuite compare on DATEV and German tax?

Odoo is close to the German accounting standard: GoBD, ELSTER and DATEV run without add-on apps. With NetSuite, German compliance is partner-dependent, German tax runs through a partner SuiteApp and DATEV through third parties in the DATEV marketplace.

Is Odoo cheaper than NetSuite?

As a rule yes, and above all more transparent. NetSuite has no public price list, is negotiated and starts at around $999 base plus $99 to $199 per user per month, with implementation between roughly $25,000 and $750,000. Odoo offers public pricing and a low entry point.

Can I also run Odoo on-premise?

Yes. Odoo can be run either in the cloud or on-premise and is open source. NetSuite is cloud-only and offers neither an on-premise option nor open source code.

Comparing more than two systems?

This comparison puts Odoo against one competitor. If several systems are still open, a structured selection is the better route: requirements first, weighted into must, should and could, then a comparison that justifies every rating. We disclose there where we earn from a system ourselves.
