Does Odoo replace Sage 100 or X3?
In many areas, yes. Odoo covers accounting including German tax, GoBD, e-invoicing and a native DATEV connection, and adds CRM, inventory management, manufacturing, website, shop and marketing in an integrated way. For very complex international multi-site manufacturing, Sage X3 continues to play to its strength.
How do Odoo and Sage differ on DATEV and German accounting?
Both offer a native DATEV connection, GoBD and German tax out of the box. Sage has been deeply integrated here all along and is long established in the DACH mid-market. Odoo reaches the same functional scope but ties it directly to the other apps.
What does Odoo cost compared with Sage?
Odoo has transparent pricing from 19.90 to 29.90 euros per user per month. Sage bills by module, so Sage 100 combined often reaches more than 100 euros per user per month, and Sage X3 has no public price list. Website, marketing and project are often separate with Sage.
Does Odoo bring e-commerce and marketing that Sage lacks?
Yes. Odoo includes an integrated website builder with a blog, an online shop and email and social marketing natively. Sage brings no website, CMS or marketing builder; a web shop is available only as an add-on package.
