Odoo Enterprise vs. SAP S/4HANA Cloud GROW

SAP S/4HANA Cloud GROW brings SAP best practices, HANA real-time analytics and group consolidation to the public cloud, but demands high costs, a minimum volume and fit-to-standard, while Odoo Enterprise is cheaper, more flexible, more DACH-ready and more broadly integrated: GROW fits enterprise-scale scaling, Odoo a flexible mid-market.

S/4HANA Cloud (GROW) brings SAP best practices, HANA real-time analytics and group consolidation to the public cloud. The price: high costs/minimum volume, fit-to-standard instead of deep customisation, DATEV only via an interface, German payroll external, no front office at the core. Odoo is cheaper, more flexible, more DACH-ready and broader.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Odoo Enterprise vs. SAP S/4HANA Cloud GROW

How do Odoo and S/4HANA Cloud GROW differ on DATEV and German payroll?

Odoo brings ready-made DACH accounting, a native DATEV connection and German payroll. GROW has no native DATEV, only an interface or an add-on, and its HR runs via SuccessFactors, with German payroll handled externally.

Why is GROW often oversized for small SMEs?

GROW relies on a FUE model with a minimum volume of 15 FUE, high costs and opaque pricing. Together with the fit-to-standard approach, the package is overkill for small SMEs. Odoo offers transparent per-user pricing and is also suitable for smaller businesses.

What does fit-to-standard mean for customisability in GROW?

Fit-to-standard means that processes are adapted to SAP best practices rather than the other way around; extensions are possible only via SAP BTP. Odoo, by contrast, is open source and deeply customisable, which offers more flexibility for your own processes.

Where is GROW stronger than Odoo?

GROW scores at HANA real-time and in-memory analytics, at group consolidation and group reporting, at deep manufacturing in complex manufacturing, and at the upgrade path into the large SAP enterprise world. That makes it strong for growing, international companies.

Comparing more than two systems?

This comparison puts Odoo against one competitor. If several systems are still open, a structured selection is the better route: requirements first, weighted into must, should and could, then a comparison that justifies every rating. We disclose there where we earn from a system ourselves.
